A Memorial

Written on February 11, 2008 – 8:34 am | by Chris Schaffer |

I am back home now and trying to get started on writing what I need to again. The reason for my absence was the passing of my Mother. I won’t write much about it here, but I may write more at Darkside Dreamland, my personal blog where it will be more appropriate to consider my feelings.

Things will be rough, things will be tough, but I will start moving things here again very soon. Until then, please accept this brief memorial.

Lynitta Maria Gerbert/Schaffer

October 12th 1954 - January 31st 2008

May our thoughts and prayers be with you always, and may you have finally found peace.

Christopher - I just received your note and eulogy for your mom. Thank you for letting me know. I was so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your dad.
Your mother and I met in 9th grade Honors English at Torrance High and had many fun times together. I remember we all wore Micky Mouse T shirts to Disneyland to celebrate your mom’s 16th birthday. I loved her dad’s “nickname” for her - Lynitta Maria Conchita Gonzales Gerbert. (I think I remembered it correctly.)
Do you remember coming to our house in Lake Forest? You were about 7 or 8, I believe. We also visited you in Sedona. I think that will be a beautiful, peaceful resting place for your mom.
Take care and may you always remember the good, happy times. Fondly, Patti Eagleburger
