Entrecard - Why it Works!
I have now been an Entrecard member for about a week and a half. I managed to resist any urge to write about the experience until now. So far I can say that my experience has been uniformly positive. There are certainly a number of ways the system can improve, but this post will just focus on the positive results I have noticed.
Comments
I now get many more comments. Since joining I believe every post I have made has received a minimum of one comment. Before that things were pretty hit or miss. Most of that is my fault. I am not the worlds best blogger when it comes to visiting and commenting on other blogs. Most of that stems from the fact that I am too lazy to track down that many other blogs in my own time. Entrecard simplifies it to me simply clicking through to a huge variety of sites that are either related to Sustainable Democracy in some way, or just catch my interest. If you haven’t seen any difference in your comments, check your content. Or stop being so popular on your own that Entrecard member comments don’t create enough of a change to be statistically significant!
Alexa Ranking
Alexa is probably the most popular method ever imagined for being able to pimp yourself out to advertisers by having the right numbers. I would like to make money online, but it really isn’t my goal. If I make it to the point that I cover my hosting for the year, I will be very happy. Either way, Alexa numbers matter to people.
My current 3 Month Average is: 1,857,000
Pretty shabby for a site that has been around for over two years.
My 1 Week Average is currently sitting at: 367,000
A 1.5 million rank change in a week is a decent start. We’ll see what happens after a month or so goes by.
Those are the two big things that have stood out. On a personal note, I have had lots of fun finding new blogs from a variety of topics that interest me. At this point I look forward to getting much more involved in this community.
Let me know how your experience with Entrecard has been!

Entrecard is great! Not only because it brings me traffic, but of all the blogs I get to read, like yours.

@ Juliana - You definitely have a nice blog to visit, so I was glad to comment at least once. I’ll also have to check how Entrecard works out in the long run, but so far it has ton several orders better than Blogrush.
@ Soundtrackgeek - It’s good to know you have the same reasons for liking Entrecard that I do! I’ll probably be posting some of the best/related blogs I have found with the system soon.

I also use Entrecard, and I agree with you that it is awesome. However, I must to tell you that I found your blog, specifically this post, through Blogrush. Go figure

@ Nick
That’s fairly ironic. But I’m glad you found my blog one way or another! I need to read more of your blog once I get some time, the topics look great.

So far I really like the idea of Entrecard… I’ve only been a member for a couple days now so we’ll see how it turns out. I’ve noticed some traffic coming my way but it hasn’t been overwhelming. Soon soon, I guess.
My blog has also been around for about two years but I have made absolutely no effort to advertise and market it… it’s been more of a personal sounding board than anything else. This year, though, I’d like to change that. Entrecard is one piece… Still looking at some others.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
Shawn
